I was recently contacted by the company Forest & Shore to review their new hair oil. Forest & Shore are a brand new company that believe that using natural and plant based ingredients are most effective for skin and haircare. Driven by a passion for nature they boast that each product is certified organic and 100% natural. It goes without saying that they don’t test on animals and their products are vegan friendly.
Today I will be reviewing the Forest & Shore Hallelujah hair oil.
Disclaimer- This product was sent to me to be reviewed, that being said all opinions are my own and I will always give honest reviews to my readers.
I have problem hair and scalp. I have coloured hair which can often get dry and I suffer with a itchy scalp most of the time and have suffered with elevated hair shedding in the past. I like to stay away from chemicals and have recently become a big fan of using oils in my haircare routine as they have so many benefits. This hair oil includes five key oils.
Organic Coconut Oil-
A hydrating, nourishing oil that us easily absorbed into the hair. Coconut oil keeps the hair proteins locked in to encourage strong, healthy hair growth.
Organic Sesame Oil-
A highly penetraiting oil working from the inside out, protecting your hair from damaging heat and UV rays.
Organic Olive Oil-
Rich in vitamin A, E and antioxidants, which protects the keratin, sealing in moisture. An essential ingredient for those who suffer with frizzy brittle hair.
Organic Sunflower Oil-
Contains omega 9, an important fatty acid to stop breakage and help hair growth. It adds shine and leaves the hair feeling silky soft.
Organic Arnica Extract-
Great rejuvenating properties for the scalp, which helps combat dandruff and itchiness. It stimulates and strengthens the hair follicles and prevents any early hair loss.
What is claims- “This formula is the perfect solution for anyone with dry, damaged hair.
Natural ingredients are the most effective way to restore damaged hair. The penetrating oils will work deep into the hair shaft repairing broken, brittle hair & smoothing the follicles leaving you with silky, conditioned locks.”
First off lets talk about the design on the box, it has a a gorgeous floral sketch with gray contrast colouring. I love how simple the deisgn is yet pleasing to the eye, I love the botanical theme.
The product itself is contained in a glass dropper bottle, this is see through so you can see what is inside. I prefer this with a product so you can see exactly what you’re putting on your skin and how much product you have left!.
This oil gives off a gorgeous floral and woody aroma thanks to the lavender and rosemary essential oils although it doesn’t linger too long in your hair afterwards.
How to use-
The box suggests putting 2-5 drops into the palm of your hand and evenly applying to the mid lengths of your hair when it is towel dried, brushing through with a wide-tooth comb then styling as usual. You can also use it as a root treatment by using 2-3 full pipettes and massaging it into the scalp and mid lengths and combing it through and leaving it in overnight, then washing out the next day.
I have been using this oil for just over a week and during that time have used it once in a root treatment which washed out of my hair easily and left it feeling soft but with less build up then what washing alone does!. I have used it twice on towel dried hair and it give the most gorgeous sheen as well as taming my fly away hairs and some frizz that I get from colouring my hair. I love how lightweight the oil is, it absorbs quickly into the hair shaft and it doesn’t leave my hair feeling weighed down or greasy. A little goes a long way and you really don’t need anymore then what is suggested.
I’m excited to see what other products this brand will bring out in the future (I am hoping for a organic shampoo and conditioner).
If your hair is in need of some serious moisture then you can find this oil here.
