Makeup Revolution Soph X Eyeshadow Palette.

If you are a fan of the bargain drugstore makeup brand Makeup Revolution you will have see their newest palette that they have released. It is a collaboration with Youtuber SophDoesNails (don’t be fooled by the name as she is mainly makeup based).

As soon as I saw the release pictures I had to get my hands on it, It was sold out on the Superdrug website so I went into my local store. I was so pleased to pick up the last one that they had in stock!.

Packaging

The palette comes in water colour print box with rose gold paint splatter detailing with matching rose gold text. The best part of the packaging for me was the thick plastic film that was used to seal the palette, this meant that it hadn’t been tampered with or tested by anyone else.

The palette itself comes in a smooth sturdy matte box. Go careful how you store this as I accidently got some pink liquid lipstick on this after taking the photos and it now wont come off!.

This boasts 14 matte shades and 10 shimmer shades which is all you need to create everything from a subtle day time look to some night time glam. I love how well the colours compliment eachother and how many looks you could get out of this  thanks to the colour range. Also is needs to be mentioned how great this palette would be for autumn and winter looks with the golds, coppers, greens, browns and reds.

I  have noticed that when swatching some of the transition matte shades aren’t very pigmented (as you will see in the first row of swatches). Some are quite chalky and have some fallout. However they are definitely buildable and the brighter colours and the shimmers are so pigmented and easy to work with.

The cost of this palette is £10 which is think is great price for how many great shades you get. Sophie also mentioned in her introduction video that some of the shades can be mixed to use for brow and contouring. You can buy this palette here.

She also created a highlighting palette but sadly it was out of stock!.

What do you think of this palette? Let me know in the comments below!.

Thanks for reading.
