Hello beauties, I was recently contacted by the lovely team at Wishtrend to receive and test some of the skincare products they sell on their website in exchange for a review. I was asked what my skincare needs were (dry and dull skin with acne scarring from my teens) so I could try some products suited to my specific skin issues. I was recommended two items from the Klairs Freshly Juiced range.
Disclaimer- These products were sent to me for free in exchange for a review. That being said all opinions are my own and I will always give a honest review.
Wishtrend is a online store that sell Korean makeup and beauty products.
I have to give both products a thumbs up for the packaging, both come in very strong glass containers and feel very sturdy and don’t feel cheap. I love the cute little shaped labels and the holographic detailing.
The KLAIRS Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask is incorporated with Vitamin E, which is well known as an excellent antioxidant. Did you know that vitamin E is the ultimate skin care booster that not only delivers an excellent antioxidant power, but also has various effects in benefiting, dry sensitive and aging skin?. Feel the ultimate effect of vitamin E for yourself!
This Vitamin infused Mask contains Vitamin E and Niacinamide which claims to have a brightening effect on the skin. It also contains vitamin C which is a well known ingredient to heal the skin and make it look less dull while providing moisture to any dry areas. The idea behind this mask is to apply it before your moisturiser to brighten your complexion.
When you open the lid you will first off notice the very strong smell, this smells like a mens aftershave to me and it definitely lingers on your skin for a while after, I didn’t enjoy the smell at all. The texture of this mask is something I had never seen before, it looks and feels like custard, the website claims that this is because it is a ‘shape memory cream’ which means it remembers its original shape giving a flat smooth service to your skin once it’s adhered to it. The cutest little spoon is included to help measure out how much you need and one scoop is enough to cover the whole of your face.
This mask was very sticky feeling and does leave your skin feeling very tacky and oily looking, i personally didn’t like the feeling or the smell it left so I only used it in the night time before bed rather then day and night as suggested on the packaging. However the tacky effect worked great under makeup as a primer and really made my foundation last longer.
As far as results go, after using it for a week, my skin did feel less dry, it has a lovely cooling and fresh effect on the skin and did seem to improve the overall brightness of my skin. However this broke me out terribly so I had to stop using. It has been a few days since I stopped using this and I’m just using the serum, the breakouts are almost healed now so I know this mask was the culprit and not the serum that was doing it. So gutted this didn’t work for me as I had read good reviews of it working for others!. This cost $27 for 90mls
Designed with naturally effective ingredients that are safe and non-irritating, the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is made to energise and rejuvenate your skin with the power of pure vitamin C! Don’t stress over dull skin tone and enlarged pores anymore
Vitamin C in skincare is so huge right now, known for its brightening effects and amazing at getting rid of dull skin with acne scars and pigmentation, whilst giving skin the moisture it needs to stay looking youthful.
This is a thick feeling serum, it does feel heavy on the skin once applied but absorbs surprisingly very quickly!. It doesn’t leave any greasy or oily residue and has a gorgeous light cola scent to it which isn’t overpowering.
A few drops of this serum goes a long way and you use by warming it up in your hand and patting it into the skin after cleansing, toning and just before a moisturiser. You dispense with a sturdy pipette which helps control how many drops you need without wasting product.
I have to say how amazed I am at the results so far after testing this out for two weeks. My skin does look brighter then before and looks healthier and not so dry. It is even making my old acne scarring form my teens look less visable. I love how this doesn’t effect my makeup application either. Once I have finished this bottle I will definitely be purchasing this as I can see it being a staple in my skincare routine from now on.
This costs $23 for 35ml
