NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer

Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, today’s review is something a bit different to what I would normally review, I have read and watched many people rave about this primer and since I have tried the NYX Pore filler primer and it’s one of my favourites I thought I’d give this Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer a go.

This super silky light and fresh formula creates a comfortable cushion on your skin to enhance makeup application.

The incredible formula creates a smooth uniform canvas that minimizes shine and makes application flawless.

Your skin will feel like it has been touched by an angel.

Packaging

How pretty is this packaging, I love the pink, white and black colour scheme. The font on the front is so stunning. The product comes in a thick squeezey tube with a nozzle and a screw top lid. This packaging makes it very easy to get enough product to cover the entire face and neck without wasting any as you’re in complete control.

Price

This costs £13 for 30g which is the standard amount of product you get in a primer, I think the price is fair considering that you don’t need much product to cover your face so it will last you a long time.

Formula

Once i squeezed out the desired amount onto my hand/fingers, I noticed how thick this was, this was odd to me at first and a little daunting as I’m used to using oils or thinner formulas. It doesn’t have a scent to it. Although it is thicker, it spreads extremely easily and a little goes a long way, it goes on fairly thick at first but then sheers out once spread with your fingers. it gives a velvety feel to the skin and does provide a ‘canvas’ (like a film upon the skin) like it claims.

Results

I first tried this with a matte foundation, and I noticed that it was looking a little on the cakey side where I get dry (nose and chin). I then gave it a go with a dewy foundation and I really liked how smooth and flawless it made it look, i noticed it filled in a lot of texture I have from old acne scarring and how it made my pores a lot smaller. I won’t be using this with any matte foundations as it is just far too dry for my skin type but it’s a winner with my dewy ones. I also noticed how much longer my foundation lasted throughout the day, it normally breaks up for me around the nose and forehead and it didn’t seem to happen whilst using this.

I can see this being a dream for those who have oily skin, my skin gets oilier in the summer so I’m going to start using this again when the weather gets warmer. For now I’m going to stick with oil based primers, I really want to try the Honey primer from NYX next!

    1. Ah that’s such a shame, did you try it with different foundation formulas or was it the same with every foundation? It didn’t look as good for my dry skin with a matte foundation on top but looked amazing with dewy formula! x

      1. I didn’t explicitly test it with different foundations but I don’t wear foundation every day and my highlight etc. sometimes still looked texturey over this. Maybe I was using too much product or something? X

    1. I think you will really like the feel and look of this if you have oily skin! Although it was a little too dry for my dry skin it still made my foundation look so flawless! Let me know how you get on with it if you decide to try! x
