Lush Hair Products: Trichomania Shampoo And American Cream Conditioner

Hello beauties, like many women my hair is my security blanket, so it’s very important to me to keep it looking healthy, shiny and soft. That’s easier said then done when you have long and coloured hair. For the past two years I have also suffered from increased hair shedding so have to be careful not to make the issue worse, that’s why I thought of Lush. It is well known that they make all their products with natural and safe ingredients that are extremely gentle and I’m yet to have a bad reaction to one or their products. I have been trying out the shampoo and conditioner that I am reviewing today for around two weeks now to be able to give them a fair review.

Trichomania Solid Shampoo

Ultra-hydrating, we’ve used protein-rich creamed coconut to coat each strand with moisture to leave hair soft and strong. This cares for your scalp too. Gently stroke a few times directly onto the scalp or lather between the fingertips and work into the hair for a thick and foamy shampoo. Rinse off and condition as needed.

This shampoo is a little different to what I usually use, shampoo normally comes in a liquid form but this comes in a solid bar, I think it’s a great idea as it cuts out the packaging, is easy to use just like a soap and it ended up stopping me using too much, which is something I always tend to do with a liquid.

One of the main ingredients in this shampoo is creamed coconut, which is great for treating dry hair and giving it a moisture boost, as I colour my hair this is a massive win for me. I noticed just how squeaky clean my roots were (my hair gets oily fast!) without being drying. The bar lathers up really well which means that it will last you longer as you don’t need to use a lot of product. This has a very light scent of coconut but nothing overpowering, it’s actually the least pungent of all the shampoo’s Lush has to offer.

This costs £7.80 for 120g but you can ask someone in store to cut larger or smaller pieces and the price will vary. I will definitely be buying this again, I’ve noticed since using that I don’t have to wash my hair as much as it keeps it cleaner for a extra day!.

American Cream Hair Conditioner

A strawberry-loving, milkshake-scented cheerleader for silky Hollywood hair. Warning: has been known to bring boys to the yard. Indulge in this rich and divinely perfumed hair conditioner for shiny, addictively sweet locks you’ll want to swish all over town. Fresh strawberries gently cleanse the hair, while a splash of orange juice encourages the cuticles to lie flat and reflect more light for seriously gorgeous gloss.

Conditioners can be hit or miss is my opinion, it’s so hard to find one that’s light enough not to weigh your hair down and make it look greasy and that can also provide soft and shiny locks.

The first thing that originally drew me to buy this conditioner was the scent, I love a heavily perfumed conditioner because I want it to linger in my hair after. This has a gorgeous vanilla scent mixed with flowers, it’s so girly and pretty.

Ingredients include fresh strawberries which cleanse the hair, orange juice to keep the hair glossy and clary sage and lavender to pamper the scalp.

I noticed that you need to use quite a lot of product to cover your hair as this has a very thin formula, which is a little annoying as it’s not as cost effective as some conditioners are but it does make my hair look extremely shiny after. I’m willing to pay the money for more bottles just for how long the smell lingers in my hair, I can still smell it three days later!.

This costs £10.95 for 240g, they’re smaller or larger options available for different prices.

I’m extremely happy with both products, anything that makes my clean hair last longer. I also forgot to mention above that my hair hasn’t been shedding as much thanks to the gentle and natural ingredients. I definitely recommend going into your local Lush store as they have tons of different options for all kinds of hair types, they also do free samples for you to test before committing to buying a full size.

I don’t remember which one, I know it was a blue bar though. One of the staff members did help me, but my hair is just so picky!

  3. I’ve only tried one conditioner from lush (green tea I think it was) and I was pleasantly surprised. As my hair is curly i can very visibly see when conditioners aren’t very effective and this conditioner was great. That said the bottles were pretty small which wasn’t very cost effective for me as I use a LOT of conditioner! Xx

  10. Great review – thanks for sharing hun! I’m currently using a lush shampoo bar (not sure what it’s called though as it was a present) now I love the smell and my hair looks lovely and clean afterwards but I do feel like I’m washing my hair more often at the moment. I usually use a all natural vegan shampoo bar from a small independent company called Funky Soap 🙂 They work really well on my short hair, although I do remember they didn’t so much on my long hair when I first tried them a couple of years ago… Although it might be different for everyone. They are better for our hair and scalp because there are no chemicals in them, but it does say it can take hair a while to get used to them because your natural oils aren’t being stripped anymore and the like 🙂 They’re well priced, even cheaper than lush and last ages too, so I’d definitely recommend everyone giving them a go, not much lost if, like my long hair, your hair doesn’t take to the all natural shampoo 🙂 xo

      1. Your welcome hun, just bare in mind that it might take a while for your hair to get used to, but if it doesn’t work, like it didn’t when I had long hair, they still make for nice natural skin soaps or shaving soaps 🙂 xo
