Hello beauties, I recently popped into Kiko Milano to have a look at their ‘Gold Waves’ collection that recently launched for summer. I managed to get my hands on one of the highlighters and im really excited to share my thoughts on it.
Illuminate your summer with sophisticated golden highlights and make it luxurious with our makeup and accessories made to enhance your features and give a radiant complexion with lightweight makeup. A line that revolves around simplicity, that free summer feeling, minimalist looks and authentic beauty that doesn’t need filters, as uncontrollable and intense as the sea.
Developed to give a natural and buildable illuminating effect, perhaps after a day spent at the beach, KIKO Gold Waves stays with you even when the light gets low… you’re the star, get ready for the spotlight!
First things first, I need to pay homage to the absolutely stunning packaging of this highlighter. Encased in gold and a dreamy design on the front, this is definitely easy on the eye and looks stunning on a dressing table. Even the inside has a stunning pattern, I will be sad when the design on the front of the highlighter itself goes away as it’s just too pretty!
The highlighter comes in two shades, the one I picked up is shade ‘golden vibes’ which is a stunning gold shade and the other is ‘virtuous golden rose’ which is a pink toned highlighter. When you open it the first thing you will notice is how large the pan size is, it’s huge! You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck, 11g to be precise!
I was a bit worried when I first went to swatch this, it’s baked heavily into the pan so I thought it was going to be quite dry but this is not the case, the formula is very smooth once on your finger and looks very soft and almost has a buttery, wet look to it on the skin.
It applies easily with a highlight brush and can be worn two ways, alone for a natural looking glow (how I would where it day to day) or sprayed with some setting spray for a more intense glow. No matter how you choose to wear it, it looks stunning on the skin but sadly does seem to show a tiny bit of texture on my cheek bones.
(Used with setting spray for a intense glow)
It costs £16.90 for 11g which I think is a bargain compared to some high end highlighters, the pan size is huge so I can imagine it lasting me a very long time. I will definitely be picking up the other shade in this collection and taking a look at the gorgeous bronzer they sell. If you’re interested in buying I’ll leave the link here.
