Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette. Swatches & Eye Looks

Makeup Looks, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, if you follow my Instagram then you would have seen in my stories that I managed to get my hands on the new Huda Beauty Precious Obsessions palettes that have just been released. I loved the formula of a few of the first palettes so knew I had to collect the gemstone themed ones as soon as they launched. I will be doing separate reviews, swatches and two eye looks with each palette. Starting off with the Emerald Obsessions.

A dream come true for those Huda-holics who can’t squeeze their palettes into overstretched make up bags (or those yet to sample her game-changing shadows) this Emerald Obsessions Palette unites a spectrum of nine pigment-packed powders – six vibrant duo-chrome shimmers and three creamy mattes – in shades ranging from mint or golden olive to timeless emerald and show-stopping peacock green.

Packaging

They have opted for the same shape and size as the other obsessions palettes which is great for me as although they are small, makes for easy storage and are travel friendly. Each pan is easy to get to without accidentally dipping into another colour and there is the added bonus of having a mirror too! There is a metallic bit that keeps the lid down and the box is a sturdy thick cardboard.

Formula

Just like the previous obsessions palettes these have a smooth formula. The mattes are silky with a small amount of fallout and each shade is pigmented, with the exception of the mint green shade swatched below which was fairly patchy and needed extra work. The shimmers are what really stand out in this palette, they’re super buttery and have a really intense pigment. All shades were really easy to blend and I find wetting a brush works best to apply the shimmers as there’s a fair amount of fall out.

Shades

Inside you will find 9 shades, which consist of three mattes and six duochrome shimmers. There’s enough diversity in this palette to create a handful of looks, wether that be something natural or more intense. I really like how each colour compliments the other and the colours just flow so you won’t struggle with how to use certain shades.

Eye Looks

EmeraldUsing shade ‘6’ to create the shape. Shade ‘5’ in the centre of the lid and shade ‘1’ to highlight the inner corner and brow bone.

SwampUsing shade ‘7’ for the transition. Shade ‘8’ to create the shape. Shade ‘4’ to deepen the outer corner. Shade ‘5’ on the centre of the lid and shade ‘9’ to highlight the brow bone and inner corner.

Price

The price of this palette is £25 and be found here.

Benefit #BrowsOverBase Event. Christmas Launch

Collaborations, Lifestyle, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, the lovely Georgia who works for Benefit was kind enough to invite me and a few other blogger babes to the Brows Over Base event. This was to talk about a few new releases, the Christmas/holiday gift sets that have just launched and a mini masterclass. I wanted to share some pictures from the event along with some information about the fab gift sets on offer from Benefit for the festive season.

Disclaimer- This posts contains affiliate links but all opinions and reviews are as always, honest and my own.

Benefit are well known for their eyebrow products and two of my holy grail brow products are from Benefit (Ka Brow & Gimme Brow).

This first gift set I wanted to share with you today is something for those of you who love doing your brows. Enter the Magical Brow Stars gift set, which includes four full sized brow products and a slanted brush with a spoolie on the other end.

Inside you will find:

Foolproof Brow Powder, Goofproof brow Pencil, Ka- BROW Cream Gel, Gimme Brow+ and Precisely, My Brow Pencil.

I picked this up to stock up on my current favourites and also try some new brow products along the way as I saved so much money by buying the gift set. It’s priced at a bargain £49.50 when the contents value is £118, it literally has everything you need to create the perfect brow and makes the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. This comes in two shades, medium 3 (which is my shade for reference) and Deep 5. I will be doing a separate review of this set shortly so keep your eyes out for that!

The second gift set I wanted to show you beauties is their new Blush Bar which has four blushes and a contour/bronzing powder. Inside you will find (one of my personal faves) GALifornia, Gold Rush, Dandelion, Rockateur and the well known Hoola. Each blush has a different shade, some matte and some shimmery. This blush bar costs £49.50 with a content value of £127.50 and makes the perfect gift for a loved one who love their makeup.

Next up we have some new gift box launches which have such fun packaging, shaped like a luxurious three tier cake but in tin form, I’d definitely be reusing that packaging to store things in.

The blue cake pictured above is the Goodie Goodie Gorgeous set which contains three of Benefits best sellers. This set includes a full sized They’re Real Mascara, a full sized matte Hoola bronzer and a mini The POREfessional Pearl primer. This costs £35.50 with a contents value of £57.50

The purple cake (pictured below) is the Confection Cuties set which contains three minis. Inside is The Porefessional, Roller Lash and Gimmie Brow+. This a great set for those who haven’t tried Benefit before. This is priced at £14.50 with a content value of £31.50. This minis also come in handy to travel with.

Next we have the green cake which is for the skin care lovers. This set is the B. Right! Delights! This includes a full sized Total Moisture face cream, Browvo Conditioning Primer (full size), a funsise It’s Potent eye cream and a funsize Instant Comeback facial serum. This costs £39.50 with a content value of £70.42.

Pictured below is the pale pink cake which is Gimme Some Sugar set which includes a full sized Roller Lash Mascara, a full size The POREfessional Primer, full sized Hoola bronzer and a full sized High Beam highlighter. This costs £39.50 and has a contents value of £96.50 which is a amazing bargain! I’ll be picking this up for myself as I need a new Hoola bronzer and want to try the highlighter.

Lastly we have the dark pink cake which is the Triple Decker Decadence which had 4 full sized Benefit best sellers inside. This set includes BADgal BANG Mascara (one of my favs), a The POREfessional Primer, a High Brow highlighting pencil and a Gogotint lip & cheek stain mini. This set costs £34.50 with a contents value of £78.50

I also wanted to share with you these cute mini Stocking Fillers which will make great secret santa presents or just something to hang on the tree for a loved one. These range from £10.50- £12.50.

Here we see Georgia giving the lovely Marta a makeover and I loved the way the Hello Happy Foundation looked on her and have since picked it up!

There is definitely something for the Makeup/skincare lover when it comes to gifts or even if you want to pick up a few bits for yourself and save some money along the way! A huge thanks for the invite!

Classic Wing & Autumnal Red Lip ft Beautybigbang

Collaborations, Makeup Looks, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, the lovely team at Beautybigbang contacted me to try out some makeup items of my choice from their website. I wanted to create a simple look and share some reviews of the items that arrived. I also have a cheeky discount code that I will include at the bottom for you to get 10% off.

Beautybigbang is a online store that stocks makeup, hair, nail, skincare and healthcare products and the best part is everything is super cheap!

Disclaimer: These items were sent to me in exchange for a review. All opinions are honest and my own.

Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pen

I’m no good when it comes to free handing winged liner, so was pleased to find out this liner had a fine tip. This makes it super easy to create the shape you need without it dragging or the liner bleeding onto the lid. I’m also super impressed with the pigment of this liner, it’s a true jet black. I can see me using this to create some fun graphic looks in the future. This costs £4.55 (currently on sale for £3.03) which is an absolute steal considering it’s a very similar shape to the Kat Von D tattoo liner which retails for £17.

Waterproof Voluminous Mascara

I chose a mascara as I wanted something to pair with the liner. This has a thin brush with tiny bristles that makes it super easy to get into the lashes and coat every single one. This gave me natural looking lashes on the top but really made my bottom lashes look fluffy. This costs £6.83 (currently on sale for £3.79) which again is an absolute bargain!

Matte Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick

Saving the best until last is this gorgeous liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Kathryn’. This has a creamy, smooth formula which dries down to a matte finish. It has a small doe foot applicator which makes it super easy to line the lips. How gorgeous is this colour though, a deep cherry red which is perfect for autumn and really completes the look. This costs £6.07 (currently on sale for £2.27) and has five other shades to choose from.

For a cheeky 10% discount don’t forget to use my code REBEX10 at the checkout.

Autumn/Fall Makeup Picks 2018

Favourites, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, It’s nearly time for the most beautiful season of the year and just like the weather changes, my makeup bag does too. I have put together some amazing autumnal makeup picks that will be seeing me though to winter.

Disclaimer- This posts contains affiliate links but all opinions and reviews are as always, honest and my own.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgy palette

My favourite palette of the year so far. This is a new comer to my collection and I can’t think of a better time for it to be added. Look at those dreamy, rich colours. If this doesn’t scream autumn/fall then I don’t know what does. The pigmentation of these shades are gorgeous and the formula is super smooth.

Lime Crime Venus Palette

A oldie but still a goodie, this has some beautiful shades in for those who like to play around with warmer colours. The dark red shade ‘muse’ and the dark brown shade ‘icon’ in this palette are amazing and I’m a huge fan of Lime Crime’s eyeshadow formula.

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions palette

This palette is a winner for anyone that wants to rock a berry eye this autumn. The colour pay off in these shadows are incredible, especially the shimmers which are blinding. It’s also perfect to travel with thanks to its compact size. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck with this.

Revolution Re-loaded Palette Velvet Rose

And lastly for the eye palettes, I included a new favourite of mine, the velvet rose palette. This bargain (its £4!!) is perfect for those who like neutral colours, it has cool tones and some warmer tones and glitters. This is the dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft glam palette and has great pigmentation and the colours are so pretty.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

My favourite, no that’s not a strong enough word for how much I love this product. My holy grail. This can be worn sheer by mixing a illuminator as it has a medium coverage. It can be built to full however. The finish of this is flawless. I love wearing this in the summer and wearing with a dewy primer and base and love wearing this matte in the winter by setting it with a powder (it’s a matte finish foundation anyway). It doesn’t oxidise and it literally lasts on my skin all day without a touch up. This costs £26 for 30ml. It doesn’t come with a pump sadly but these can be bought at a additional cost of £6 from MAC.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

I’ve recently fell back into love with eyeshadows in a pencil form, you can apply them directly onto your lid on its own, using a brush to smoke it out or as a base colour for adding shimmers to make them more pigmented. I’ve been loving the shades, they have great colour payoff, are easy to use and only cost £5.50 and are now in the 3 for 2 offer in Boots if you live in the UK!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter

One of my favourite highlighters this year has to be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy collab. It’s so perfect for autumn as it’s a stunning light gold which will compliment the warmer toned looks. This has a gorgeous buttery formula and a wet look sheen without clinging to texture on the skin. It’s pricey but it’s so pigmented that you don’t need to use much to get a blinding shine.

L’Oréal Balmain Color Riche Lipstick

Starting with the lipsticks is one the the L’Oréal x Balmain collab. This is the shade ‘fever’ which is a stunning warm orange, which of course reminds me of a pumpkin. I really love the formula of the Balmain collab lipsticks, they’re super smooth and this particular lipstick is matte.

L’Oréal Chocolats Liquid Lipstick

Another L’Oréal lippy is from the chocolate collection is shade ‘tasty ruby’ which is a dark cherry red. A red lipstick is my favourite and this has the most gorgeous smooth formula. It applies really easy thanks to the tear shaped applicator. It doesn’t leaving that tacky feeling when drying and looks really pretty on the lips. Plus it smells like chocolate which is always a bonus!

Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Lipstick

I always go on about how much I love Lime Crime so it’s no surprise that a liquid lipstick is amongst my favourites. This is the shade ‘Salem’ which is a stunning chocolate brown shade. I’m yet to find a product that I don’t love from Lime Crime and this matte dream is no exception. Expect a super smooth application and finish with this bad boy with tonnes of colour pay off.

Soap & Glory Spectaculips Metallic Lip Cream

I had to add a metallic lipstick in as they’re so in trend right now. This gorgeous shade is ‘gold dusk’ which is a grungy copper colour and I could imagine this going perfect with a purple smoky eye. This dries down matte but has that shimmery finish.

Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick

I was gifted this at a buxom event I was kindly invited to a few months ago and fell in love with the formula. It’s a heavy duty gel lipstick with a matte finish and gorgeous colour pay off. This is shade ‘Toxic Cherry’ which is the perfect classic red. I love how hard wearing this lipstick is. These are currently on sale on here for £9 So grab yourself a bargain as there’s so many fab shades to choose from.

NYX Strictly Vinyl Lip Gloss

A new comer to my lipstick collection and a product that I reviewed recently here is the the NYX Strictly Vinyl Gloss. Which is a must for those who love a high shine finish. This is shade ‘bombshell’ which is the perfect warm brown.

Have you spotted anything you like for autumn in my picks? What are your autumn must haves? Let me know in the comments below!

NYX Strictly Vinyl Reviews, Swatches and Look

Makeup Looks, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, I’m a huge fan of a glossy finish, be that on the lips, eye lid or the skin, there’s something just so appealing about high shine looks. I recently come across NYX’s New Strictly Vinyl range and knew that I had to collect a few of the lip glosses and two of their liquid liners. I wanted to share my thoughts, some lip swatches and a basic editorial style look.

Disclaimer- This posts contains affiliate links but all opinions and reviews are as always, honest and my own.

Shamelessly shiny and super pigmented, Strictly Vinyl lip gloss from NYX Professional Makeup is music to your lips! This beyond glossy goodie is available in eight plush and pigment-packed shades that you’ll definitely want to add to your playlist. Hardcore colour and intense shine is always just a few swipes away.

3 KEY BENEFITS:

• Creamy metallic-matte

• Waterproof finish

• Smooth and precise applicati

Packaging

There’s not really much to be said about the packaging, if you’re already a NYX fan then you will notice that the packaging is the same as the Liquid Suede lipsticks. The gloss is housed in a sturdy cylinder and is larger than the average liquid lipstick. I really like the Doe foot applicator, it’s just the right size to cover my lips and makes it super easy to apply.

Formula & Wear

First thing I have to mention about this Gloss is that it’s sticky, so if you don’t enjoy that feeling then you will hate this. I don’t mind it however and love a glossy lip so this is perfect for me. Even though it’s a gloss it still has great colour payoff and doesn’t bleed out on the lips. I don’t ever expect a gloss to wear well, it’s just not the nature of it so wasn’t too surprised that this didn’t stay put when eating or drinking but was no problem as it’s super easy to reapply. I think the colours will be perfect for autumn for those who a glossy lip.

Price

There are 8 shades in the range, that are all aimed on the grungier side. These cost £7 and be found here

Shades ‘femme fatale, bombshell, baby doll and bad girl’

Ready to give the Strictly Vinyl™ Eyeliner from NYX Professional Makeup a spin? Take your pick from the five epic colors included in our vibrant catalogue. Featuring a flexible and slim brush, this high-shine liquid eyeliner glides on effortlessly and delivers an intensely lacquered look you’ll want to rock again… and again!

3 KEY BENEFITS:

*High shine liquid liner

*Flexible slim brush applicator

*Rich, fully pigmented color payoff

Packaging

When it comes to eye liner I prefer a thin applicator, which this product has. It’s small enough to be able to freehand a sharp wing. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are a beginner how ever as using any fluid eyeliner is tricky to get neat.

Formula

The texture of this is a thick fluid. It’s super smooth and doesn’t look dry on the lids when it dries down. I’m so pleased it’s a jet black, some liners dry down and don’t look that dark but this one definitely has intense pigment. Also loving the glossy finish, it’s something I’ve never seen for a liquid liner.

Price

There is 5 shades in the range which cost £6 each which I think it amazing, I will be picking up the rest of the range to spice up my usual winged liner. If you’re interested in buying you can find them here.

Using the ‘black’ liquid liner and ‘femme fatale’ lip gloss.

What do you think of the Vinyl collection? Are you a gloss fiend? Or do you prefer a matte finish? Let me know in the comments below!

Urban Decay Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette. Review, Swatches & Eye Look

Makeup Looks, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, it’s official I have a eyeshadow addiction. I realised this as I walked past the Urban Decay stand in Bristol and locked eyes on the newest Urban Decay palette. I had seen loads of swatches of this online but nothing prepared me for how much I’d fall in love with it in person. I wanted to share my thoughts, swatches and two eye looks with the Born To Run palette with you today.

Disclaimer- This posts contains affiliate links but all opinions and reviews are as always, honest and my own.

If you find yourself packing multiple kits for one look, our ‘Born to Run’ eye shadow palette is your globe-trotting go-to. When it’s time to grab your carry-on and dash off to the next big adventure, you’ll want to pack light. Enter all-in-one eye shadow palette that has everything you need to create neutral looks, add in pops of colour and play with brights, no matter where you’re going. With 21 of-the-moment shades – from jewel tones and modern neutrals to more colourful shadows- you’ve got every possible eye look covered in one sleek kit. Made from our mind-blowing formula that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich colour and bendability, ‘Born to Run’s’ eye shadow shades hold tightly onto pigment that stays put. Got a conference in Dallas where you need to look like a boss? Create subtle definition with creamy, light neutrals like breakaway and weekender. Urban Decay is 100% cruelty-free. Urban Decay is beauty with an edge™ .

Packaging-

This packaging suits the the ‘travel friendly’ theme of the palette. I think it’s a fun new look for Urban Decay as it’s very different from their usual packaging. It has snaps from all over the world on the front. The packaging itself is very sturdy and inside you will find a great quality, large sized mirror that covers the whole of the lid.

Shade Selection-

Inside you will find 21 eyeshadows consisting of 8 mattes and 13 shimmers

• Breakaway (warm ivory shimmer)
• Stranded (pale rose gold with tonal micro-shimmer)
• Blaze (light metallic peach with pink shift)
• Weekender (light neutral beige matte)
• Still Shot (bright peach)
• Riff (brown-nude matte with floating micro-sparkle)
• Good As Gone (deep brown with iridescent micro-shimmer)
• Hell Ride (deep fuchsia matte)
• Baja (burnt orange matte)
• Accelerate (reddish copper metallic)
• Guilt Trip (smoky purple shimmer)
• Ignite (rose gold metallic)
• Smog (deep coppery bronze shimmer)
• Wanderlust (forest green with gold micro-shimmer)
• Wildheart (bright fuchsia)
• Punk (red-brown matte)
• Double Life (metallic rust)
• Jet (black with deep shimmering purple shift)
• Drift (charcoal satin with tonal micro-sparkle)
• Radio (deep emerald satin)
• Big Sky (frosted green shimmer with iridescent micro-sparkle)

Formula

Luckily I’ve never had any problems with Urban Decays eyeshadow formulas and this palette is no exception. The mattes are smooth and finely milled with little to no fall out and the shimmers are buttery with a slight bit of fall out. My favourite thing about the formula is how well the shadows blend, especially the mattes. I’m really pleased at how pigmented each shade is, with the exception of shade punk which needs a little building to get a good colour pay off.

Shades- ‘breakaway, stranded, blaze, weekender, still shot, riff and good as gone’

Shades- ‘hell ride, baja, accelerate, guilt trip, ignite, smog and wanderlust’

Shades- ‘wild heart, punk, double life, jet, drift, radio and big sky’

To create this roasted chestnut inspired eye I used shade ‘riff‘ as the transition, ‘punk‘ to deepen up the crease. ‘Baja‘ in the centre of my lid and lower lash line, ‘accelerate‘ for the halo effect and shade ‘stranded‘ to highlight my inner corner and brow bone.

To create this bruiser (the bassets chew sweet if you’re from the UK) inspired look I used shades ‘still shot‘ as the transition, ‘hell ride‘ to deepen the crease. ‘wanderlust‘ on the inner part of my lid, ‘radio‘ on my lower lash line and ‘ignite‘ in the inner corner.

Price-

If your looking to get your hands on this palette it will set you back £39.50 which for a high end brand I think is a great price for the various shades you get to choose from. You can create so many fun looks from bold to natural with just this one palette. You can find it here.
