NYX Slip Tease Lip Lacquer Review

Makeup Looks, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, after purchasing a few of the NYX vinyl glosses and loving them, I was pleased to see a new and similar product in Boots recently. Today I will be reviewing three of the NYX Slip Tease Lip Lacquer

Put the moves on your pout with the new Slip Tease Full Color Lip Lacquer from NYX Professional Makeup. From seductive nudes to bold berries and more, this luxurious lippie delivers full coverage in 24 pigment-rich and seriously plush shades that shine. Featuring an hourglass-shaped applicator that makes lining your lips a cinch, each weightless hue slips on comfy-smooth and glossy for a knockout finish.

Packaging

First off I want to mention how much I love the see through packaging, I like to be able to see the colour of the product and think it makes it look a lot more pricey. The thick plastic tube is super sturdy and is hexagon shaped which I also love. These are a welcome addition to my lipstick holder and look gorgeous on my dressing table.

The shape of the applicator comes in the shape of a hourglass which is a style I’ve never seen in a application wand. I found this super easy to use and get a clean line around the lips.

Shades

There are 24 shades in this collection, I picked up the three shades, ‘last frontier’ which is is a deep berry red/plum, ‘urban oasis’ which is a terracotta nude and ‘spiced spell’ which is a true classic red. I found each shade that I tried to have gorgeous full pigment without the need to add several layers to build up the colour.

Formula

I really like this formula for a gloss, they’re a lot comfier to wear than the vinyl glosses. They have a thick creamy formula but don’t feel heavy on the lips. They are slightly tacky feeling when you press your lips together so if you don’t like that you won’t get on with these. One thing I was presently surprised with is the lasting power, these grip to your lips surprising well, even after eating and drinking and are super easy to re apply.

Swatches

Shades- ‘last frontier’, ‘urban oasis’ and ‘spiced spell’

Price

These costs £7 each but the best time to pick them up is in boots if you live in the UK as they are now included in the 3 for 2 promotions which is fab! You can pick them up here.

NYX Strictly Vinyl Reviews, Swatches and Look

Makeup Looks, Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, I’m a huge fan of a glossy finish, be that on the lips, eye lid or the skin, there’s something just so appealing about high shine looks. I recently come across NYX’s New Strictly Vinyl range and knew that I had to collect a few of the lip glosses and two of their liquid liners. I wanted to share my thoughts, some lip swatches and a basic editorial style look.

Disclaimer- This posts contains affiliate links but all opinions and reviews are as always, honest and my own.

Shamelessly shiny and super pigmented, Strictly Vinyl lip gloss from NYX Professional Makeup is music to your lips! This beyond glossy goodie is available in eight plush and pigment-packed shades that you’ll definitely want to add to your playlist. Hardcore colour and intense shine is always just a few swipes away.

3 KEY BENEFITS:

• Creamy metallic-matte

• Waterproof finish

• Smooth and precise applicati

Packaging

There’s not really much to be said about the packaging, if you’re already a NYX fan then you will notice that the packaging is the same as the Liquid Suede lipsticks. The gloss is housed in a sturdy cylinder and is larger than the average liquid lipstick. I really like the Doe foot applicator, it’s just the right size to cover my lips and makes it super easy to apply.

Formula & Wear

First thing I have to mention about this Gloss is that it’s sticky, so if you don’t enjoy that feeling then you will hate this. I don’t mind it however and love a glossy lip so this is perfect for me. Even though it’s a gloss it still has great colour payoff and doesn’t bleed out on the lips. I don’t ever expect a gloss to wear well, it’s just not the nature of it so wasn’t too surprised that this didn’t stay put when eating or drinking but was no problem as it’s super easy to reapply. I think the colours will be perfect for autumn for those who a glossy lip.

Price

There are 8 shades in the range, that are all aimed on the grungier side. These cost £7 and be found here

Shades ‘femme fatale, bombshell, baby doll and bad girl’

Ready to give the Strictly Vinyl™ Eyeliner from NYX Professional Makeup a spin? Take your pick from the five epic colors included in our vibrant catalogue. Featuring a flexible and slim brush, this high-shine liquid eyeliner glides on effortlessly and delivers an intensely lacquered look you’ll want to rock again… and again!

3 KEY BENEFITS:

*High shine liquid liner

*Flexible slim brush applicator

*Rich, fully pigmented color payoff

Packaging

When it comes to eye liner I prefer a thin applicator, which this product has. It’s small enough to be able to freehand a sharp wing. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are a beginner how ever as using any fluid eyeliner is tricky to get neat.

Formula

The texture of this is a thick fluid. It’s super smooth and doesn’t look dry on the lids when it dries down. I’m so pleased it’s a jet black, some liners dry down and don’t look that dark but this one definitely has intense pigment. Also loving the glossy finish, it’s something I’ve never seen for a liquid liner.

Price

There is 5 shades in the range which cost £6 each which I think it amazing, I will be picking up the rest of the range to spice up my usual winged liner. If you’re interested in buying you can find them here.

Using the ‘black’ liquid liner and ‘femme fatale’ lip gloss.

NYX Plush Gel Lipsticks

Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, when it comes to lip colours I’ve been opting for a gloss or a lipstick with a sheen instead of a matte. I recently picked up four of the NYX Plush Gel lipsticks that were in sale on the UK website. I wanted to share my thoughts on here as the colours and finish are so beautiful and are perfect for summer.

Play up your pout with a silky stroke of Plush Gel Lipstick.

Available in 12 totally vibrant shades, this lippie brings together an oh-so-soft feel and the high shine of a gloss.

Drench lips in a wash of colour for an instantly polished look anytime you crave a quick touch-up. Want a bolder finish? (Yes, please!) A second swipe is twice as nice.

Packaging

Each lipstick comes in a slim sleek wind up tube. I love how the colour of the tube depicts the colour of the lipstick inside and the fun bold text on the front. Each bullet has a slanted shape which I found super easy to use when it came to application. These look super cute on my dressing table.

Formula

Onto the formula and the texture. Which is the main reason I wanted to share this review with you. I was after a really smooth texture and this blew me away, packed with moisture to make your lips look so plump and hydrated. I was pleasantly surprised at just how pigmented they were, as they have a glossy finish I thought they would be sheer but they build up so nicely. As for finish? Two words, high shine! I’ve been living for glossy lips recently and these make mine look so juicy. I just wish I picked up more colours at the time!

Longevity

I never expect a lipstick with a gloss or sheen to be long lasting, if you’re looking for that then this isn’t for you. What I like about these is that although they fade when eating or drinking, they are hydrating and light enough to reapply after eating/drinking without looking that over layered flakiness.

Shades- break up, foxy love, fizzy berries and sacred mix.

Price

Each lipstick usually costs £6.50 but they are currently on sale on the UK website for £3.25 here. I definitely recommend checking out the NYX sale as they have some good bargains!

NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer

Product Reviews, Uncategorized

Hello beauties, today’s review is something a bit different to what I would normally review, I have read and watched many people rave about this primer and since I have tried the NYX Pore filler primer and it’s one of my favourites I thought I’d give this Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer a go.

This super silky light and fresh formula creates a comfortable cushion on your skin to enhance makeup application.

The incredible formula creates a smooth uniform canvas that minimizes shine and makes application flawless.

Your skin will feel like it has been touched by an angel.

Packaging

How pretty is this packaging, I love the pink, white and black colour scheme. The font on the front is so stunning. The product comes in a thick squeezey tube with a nozzle and a screw top lid. This packaging makes it very easy to get enough product to cover the entire face and neck without wasting any as you’re in complete control.

Price

This costs £13 for 30g which is the standard amount of product you get in a primer, I think the price is fair considering that you don’t need much product to cover your face so it will last you a long time.

Formula

Once i squeezed out the desired amount onto my hand/fingers, I noticed how thick this was, this was odd to me at first and a little daunting as I’m used to using oils or thinner formulas. It doesn’t have a scent to it. Although it is thicker, it spreads extremely easily and a little goes a long way, it goes on fairly thick at first but then sheers out once spread with your fingers. it gives a velvety feel to the skin and does provide a ‘canvas’ (like a film upon the skin) like it claims.

Results

I first tried this with a matte foundation, and I noticed that it was looking a little on the cakey side where I get dry (nose and chin). I then gave it a go with a dewy foundation and I really liked how smooth and flawless it made it look, i noticed it filled in a lot of texture I have from old acne scarring and how it made my pores a lot smaller. I won’t be using this with any matte foundations as it is just far too dry for my skin type but it’s a winner with my dewy ones. I also noticed how much longer my foundation lasted throughout the day, it normally breaks up for me around the nose and forehead and it didn’t seem to happen whilst using this.

I can see this being a dream for those who have oily skin, my skin gets oilier in the summer so I’m going to start using this again when the weather gets warmer. For now I’m going to stick with oil based primers, I really want to try the Honey primer from NYX next!

If you’re interested in trying this out you can find this here.
